Deep Presence, and it’s film festival version, 3 Poems on Water, are related tone poems set in a wild and remote fjord in Southeast Alaska. The work is non-narrative in structure and content but develops a strong sense of place through relational clues. Taken together, 3 Poems on Water offers a contemplative view of the water cycle, water in the living world, and implicitly regards climate change in a way that is experientially rich and emotionally powerful.
